Over the years Neil has been commissioned to create some very unique carvings. The bear in the photo was carved for an Auckland artist and is now residing at the Christchurch Art Gallery. It is made from kauri and stained with water stain and finished with layers of wax. The completed bear was so lifelike people wanted to pat his head. Measuring 2.5 metres by 2.5 metres it is one of the largest carvings Neil has done to date. His attention to detail can be seen in the realistic claws created in Australian Blackwood
